What is Fusion?

Fusion is the newest LTE-TDD hardware being used by SaskTel to get high speed internet services to it's rural customers. By using this cellular based equipment, SaskTel is able to beam internet services to rural customers homes (in select areas) from their local Fusion LTE capable tower. This signal is picked up via an outdoor unit placed on the roof or wall mount of the consumers house, and then converted from a wireless LTE signal to a use-able ethernet based connection. The long and the short of it is you get internet at your house, farm, or shop in areas where it has never been available before without the need for phone lines, cable modems, or expensive satellite based equipment.

Included Features

The following features are included with every fusion internet installation free of charge.

  • Download at speeds up to 5 Mbps (up to 10 on the speed boost add-on).
  • Upload at speeds up to 1 Mbps.
  • 100 GB of included monthly data (see data chart below).
  • No restrictions on your download speeds.
  • 10 sasktel.net email addresses with 1 GB of mailbox space per account.
  • Included router with built in Wi-Fi so you can connect wirelessly.
  • Help when you need it with friendly, knowledgeable, dealer support right from the Comm Centre.

Equipment & Installation

Unlike some other providers, you own your equipment with fusion. This does mean however you must pay a one time fee to buy the equipment outright before installation can occur. The full fusion installation costs you the customer $249.00 and comes with a 1 year warranty. Should the equipment stop working in the first year simply bring it back and we will replace it over the counter for free. Along with that warranty the Comm Centre will warranty and fix any installs within the first 30 days for free as a way to care for our customers.

Fusion is subject to our standard mileage and hourly service rates. These rates are set by SaskTel and as such we charge $1.50/km to and from your residence as well as $150.00/h for any extra labor outside the basic install (this includes wiring extra devices, using non-standard mounting equipment, or running extra cables). The final expense for install is the basic installation fee at $399.99. This covers installation and testing of the system and connection to one device of the customers choosing.

We do our best to make sure you can have fusion at your residence before we attempt an install; from mapping the geography between towers, checking GPS position and elevation, to basic land surveying. In the event that your install can not be completed due to unforeseen factors such as obstructions, you will not be billed for the 'test-shot'. If you live with-in a 35 km radius of a fusion enabled tower listed in our supported locations below and with to inquire about getting fusion at your residence, please contact us. We will need to know your legal-land description (LSD) or GPS co-ordinance as well as a phone number to reach you at for further questioning.
